Teaching

Teaching takes up an important place in Julia's musical life. Within a short space of time she has become a highly sought after teacher who works with pupils of all ages and abilities. Her lessons are designed to help each individual pupil achieve his or her personal goals whether that is to improve playing skills as an amateur, work towards ABRSM exams or prepare for music college. Julia's exceptional dedication and enthusiasm for teaching shows in the excellent exam results many of her pupils achieve.

Julia is also keen to pass on her vast experience as a chamber musician and coach ensembles.

If you would like to enquire about lessons please contact Julia directly.

Outreach Work

Beside her extensive performing activities, Julia has a crucial interest in working with children and in bringing classical music to those who would normally have little or no access to it.

For the past three years Julia has been a mentor for THE MUSIC PROJECT at St. Paul's School in Barnes, a workshop for GCSE composition pupils who were given the chance to work on their pieces with a number of young professional musicians and have the finalized compositions recorded live.

On her trip to Singapore she spent two weeks at Tanglin Trust School giving presentations of string instruments to year 2 - 6 pupils and coaching string sections in preparation for the school's 80th anniversary concert at the Esplanade, Singapore's major concert hall.

Most recently Julia tutored on the RCM's Summer Music course, a week-long course for 8 - 12 year old children introducing them to various aspects of music such as singing, percussion and instrumental improvisation.

She regularly gives recitals at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-Disabilities in Putney and looks forward to expand performing opportunities in hospitals and nursing homes.

Workshops can be tailored to fit specific requirements, so get in touch with Julia directly to discuss the many options available.

"I know she is a very accomplished player but in addition, she really does have the knack of inspiring young people to take an interest."
